MACIZO DEL MONTSENY

For the more experienced cyclists, we highlight the route that runs through Montseny, a massif that is located between the regions of Vallés Oriental, La Selva and Osona. This mountainous area stands out for hosting one of the southernmost fir forests in Europe. It was for this reason that in 1978 it was declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco. If you are a cyclist who is used to difficult routes, we recommend you climb the Turó de l’Home, the highest peak in Montseny. In the last six kilometers of ascent, some sections reach a 13% gradient.

GAVARRA MARÍTIMA

It is a route of 62 kilometers in which to enjoy both the sea and the mountains. Starting in Playa de Aro and ending in Calella de Palafrugell, the Les Gavarres massif will accompany us all the way. When we return, we will follow a section of the Ronda road. It is an easy route, which offers magnificent views of the Costa Brava, especially its coves with crystal clear water. We invite you to take a dip along the way!

PARQUE DEL MONTENEGRE I EL CORREDOR

Very close to Barcelona, specifically in the Montnegre i el Corredor Park, one of the protected natural areas of the Litoral Catalana mountain range, there is an 80km circular route. To be able to contemplate all the beauty of the place, we recommend that you follow the route on a mountain bike, starting the journey at the Roca del Valles and lasting approximately 3 and a half hours. Very close to the top (633.5 m) of the Sierra del Corredor, you will find the sanctuary built at the end of the 16th century, as well as a restaurant with typical Catalan cuisine, where you can take a break.

FOLGUEROLES Y PANTANO DE SAU

The following suggested route, Folgueroles – Pantano de Sau, is aimed at those expert cyclists who like tough challenges, as it is a route of a very demanding level through the Pantano de Sau, for which you must have a physical preparation and quite high technique. The route begins at the Folgueroles car park, it is signposted as route 11 of the Vall de Sau-Collsacabra BTT center. This 32 km route (approximately 4 hours) is known especially for the beauty of the landscapes, where you can enjoy the viewpoints of La Plana de Vic, Les Guilleries, the Sau reservoir and the Collsacabra. You will also discover the Iberian and medieval town of Savassona.

PALAFRUGELL – PALAMÓS

If you prefer to spend the day as a family with the little ones, we recommend the Petit Train Greenway, which connects the towns of Palamós and Palafrugell and takes about 2 hours. This route runs over the old railway lines that communicated Palamós with Gerona. The entire greenway is made of cement and the journey can be done easily. It also has no unevenness and is very well signposted and equipped.

Along the route we will find several sections protected by wooden fences, we will pass two bridges over the Aubi stream. The most pleasant thing about this route is that along it, you can appreciate the beautiful landscapes and the Begur Mountains in the background.
